The name SustentHábitat represents the essence of our philosophy.
Sustainable:
Refers to meeting the needs of the present without compromising resources for future generations, fostering a balance between development, social well-being, and care for the environment.
Habitat:
The space where people live, work, share, and grow. In an urban context, habitat represents the human-built environment, which must provide appropriate living conditions and quality of life for its inhabitants.
Bringing both terms together captures our purpose:

Company Story
SustentHábitat grew out of observing and recognizing the environmental and urban challenges faced by Xalapa, Veracruz, and countless other communities across Mexico and the world.
We recognize that access to water and the quality of our living spaces have become essential to human well-being and urban resilience. Among the core challenges that brought our work to life are:
- Gradually rising temperatures and the impacts of climate change.
- Mounting water scarcity (dry seasons and water rationing) paired with a lack of supply infrastructure.
- Increasingly intense rains and flooding—excess water lost without being put to good use.
- The contamination of natural water sources: only 2 of the 22 water bodies in the metropolitan area of Xalapa show low levels of pollution, 13 record intermediate levels, and 7 face severe contamination.
Faced with this reality, SustentHábitat was founded to foster solutions that help individuals and communities adapt to these challenges through a smarter, more efficient, and mindful use of water.
